Nathene Akins

Nathene has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years. 

As a child growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, I’d often sit at my Stepfather’s “barber college” office desk imagining being a secretary. l became a licensed barber in my late teens, but years later as a young adult, discovered that I genuinely enjoyed helping people sort through their paperwork and clutter. 

And so began my administrative career, starting as a teller at First Interstate Bank of Alaska in 1997. Since that time, I’ve worked as a financial services representative, teller supervisor, and executive assistant. Each of these roles has taught me how to solve the various problems we encounter every day. I’ve learned to navigate the hoops that banks and custodians put up and know how to help our clients jump through them! 

When I’m not shuffling papers at work or in denial about having a social life, I’m exercising my administrative powers in my husband’s improv group and honing my inner nerd by painting custom action figures of his creation. We have four children and a grandchild. I am also a proud consumer of the “cup of Joe.”   

Today, I serve as Operations Assistant at Cutler Investment Group’s Alaska location, having joined the team from Foundations Asset Management. I’m privileged to work alongside an awesome team, servicing clients and assisting advisors.
