Tingwei earned her BS in Economics in 2003 from the University of Washington.
She received her Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP) in 2010.
Have you ever visited Hawaii? I spent my early years on those idyllic beaches. Have you ever visited Taiwan? I spent my formative years in its bustling cities. In high school, my family moved to Seattle, where it became obvious that I had forgotten how to speak English and understood very little of American culture. Despite the language barrier I fell in love with the mountains, the city, the rain, and the best University in the Pacific Northwest: my alma mater, the University of Washington (as if I had to tell you which one it was!)
At UW, I studied economics hoping to learn about how capital flowed around the globe and what made markets tick. However, I found my real passion when I discovered financial planning for individuals and what makes people tick! Sitting down with people from all walks of life and from every vocation while talking to them not only about saving for their future, but what they want to do in the future makes every day different and every day rewarding.
For me, I have recently realized that I love to travel – the less well-traveled, the better! Most recently, I went to New Zealand where I enjoyed a grueling 12-mile hike in the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, explored the area where the Lord of the Rings was filmed, and learned all about Maori culture. Send me your favorite travel pics. I love having the chance to talk with our family and friends about what makes them excited!
